Chris Milne has been playing football for about seven years.

He has played six of those years with the Halton Cowboys and played for Team Canada playing in the Pop Warner International Bowl twice. This past year, he played in the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL) with the Mississauga Warriors. He also plays with his high school team, the Bishop Reding Royals, in the Halton Secondary School Athletic Association (HSAA).

“My goals for the Ontario Prospect Challenge (OPC) is to have a chance to compete with top players in Ontario and to show my ability as a football player,” said Chris.

During the offseason, the offensive tackle spends a lot of time in the gym working on his strength, conditioning and footwork.

On the field, the Warrior’s idol is Ray Lewis because he embodies everything that he wants to be when he is older.

“He is a man who came from very little and made a life for himself,” commented Chris, “he worked very hard to accomplish his dreams and that is something I have respect for.”

“He also gives back as much as he can which is something I would like to do when I can,” added the Warrior.

Chris loves to play football for many reasons, with the first being the brotherhood it forms.

“My former teammates are some of my best friends and will be for life, it forms a strong sense of brotherhood between the team and I don’t think that is found in any other sport in the world,” explained the Warrior.

The second, would be the contact because he loves being able to hit people and let his aggression out without getting in to trouble for it, it is his outlet.

Another reason he loves football are the skills it teaches. “It teaches you to trust others, ask for help when you need it, respect your teammates and coaches, and many other skills that players can use in life.”

“Lastly, I love that football pushes me to my limits, I love the physical and mental challenges I face and how to overcome them,” continued Chris.
