At the young age of seven, Jordan Zlomislic has been playing with the Kemptville Jaguars spring team in the National Capital Amateur Football Association (NCAFA). He also plays fall football with the NCAFA’s Rideau Redblacks.

“My goals with the Ontario Prospect Challenge (OPC) is to make the team as a wide receiver,” explained Jordan. “I want to have fun and learn more about the game of football.”

During past off seasons, the Redblack has been a goalie, but this year he is not playing hockey and will be concentrating more on football with the OPC and a winter football camp.

Moreover, he also swims a lot during the summer, and is on the track and field team for school.

Despite college being a distant future for Jordan, he wants to go to a college or university and hopefully play on their football team.

“I love to play the game and watch the professionals play,” commented Jordan. “Our family has had season tickets to the Ottawa Redblacks, so we go to every home game.”

Jordan has also been to three NFL games at three different stadiums. His number one football idol is Dez Bryant of the Dallas Cowboys.

“I love the way he jumps up to catch the ball on a fade route in the end zone,” added the Redblack. He also likes Cowboy Zekeil Elliot because he loves the way he runs through the line to get ready for hits.

Jordan loves to play football because, as his coaches say, “it is the only sport where you won’t get into trouble for hitting someone.”

“It has been a great place to meet new friends and stay in great shape,” continued the Redblack, who has played quarterback and wide receiver. “It is a really good conditioning sport.”

“I love to throw and catch the ball. I hope to be able to play until the day I die.”
