CFCs “Canadian High School games of the week” Sept 22


Here is a list of the big games in High School football from across the country this week.

NOVA SCOTIA

Central Kings Gators (2-0) vs. Cobequid Cougars (2-0) CFC ‘HM’
Battle of the undefeated teams in nova scotia this sunday in Truro. Both teams are coming off convincing victories. Players to watch: Central Kings is led by Team Nova Scotia’s RBs Iain MacMillan and Robert Priestnall, DB Todd Dow, OL Bradley Burgess and DL Jacob Gee. Cobequid will look to big games from Gaven MacDonald, Jordan Lauthier, Benn Boutilier, Tristian Jennings (Team NS), Liam Fitzgerald and Peter Millman.

NEW BRUNSWICK

Moncton Purple Knights (1-0) CFC #20 vs. MacNaughton Highlanders (2-0) CFC ‘HM’
As part of the ‘touchdown atlantic’ weekend this big friday night game should go a long way in determining who is the best in New Brunswick. The balanced offensive attack of MacNaughton will look for contributions from david kennedy, kyle mcconnell, chad o’blenes and ben agnew. The purple eagles will look for veteran marc mcdougall (MFL rookie of the year) to lead the way like he did in their lone win of the season.

QUEBEC


SĆ©minaire Saint-FranƧois Blizzard (4-0) CFC #13 vs. Ɖ. sec. de l’AmitiĆ© Aigles (3-1) CFC ‘HM’

The Aigles lost their first game last weekend to the undefeated Ɖ. sec. CurĆ©-Antoine-Labelle. It does not get any easier this weekend when they play the blizzard who have only given up 6.7 points per game. Running back Brad Laplante of the blizzard will look to lead the running attack. QB Jacques Rousseau will look to solve the blizzard defense.

ONTARIO

Huron Heights (0-0) vs. Markham (0-0) CFC ‘HM’
A rematch of last years York region final should be a great one. It will take place saturday, part of markham high school’s homecoming. Markham will look to veterans DE/RB Lucas Cristavao, LB Braedon Harris, REC/LB Connor Pritty, REC Aaron Gordon, OL/LB Kyle Lees and OL Preston Baird to start them off on the right note. Huron Heights, victim to a large graduating class, will look for big things from QB Troy McCusker, RB Justin Murphy. DL Calvin Reesor and LB Mitch McCallum.

MANITOBA

Murdoch MacKay (2-0) vs. West Kildonan (1-1)
For this one we go to a AA match up. Both were convincing winners in their first games of the year. Murdoch MacKay traveled to northern ontario last week and continued their dominant ways by beating Dryden 43 to 0. West Kildonan is coming off a last minute loss to Miles Mac.

SASKATCHEWAN

Riffel (2-0) VS. Campbell (2-0) CFC #21

Campbell is coming off an emotional victory over Leboldus. Connor Bloom and Frankie Gray have starred for campbell. The riffels are led by Team Saskatchewan players Brad Grywul, Max Ziegler and Geln Jooristy.

ALBERTA

Notre Dame CFC ‘HM’ vs. Bishop O’Byrne

Bishop O’Byrne is coming off a heart breaking last play touchdown loss to lethbridge. Denzel Morrison hopes to get O’Byrne back on track against the highly touted team from Notre Dame.

BRITISH COLUMBIA

Terry Fox (1-0) CFC #5 at Kelowna CFC #7 (1-0) – GAME OF THE WEEK

All eyes will be on kelowna when these two powerhouses match up on friday at 5pm. Terry Fox was impressive in their 49 to 0 victory over New Westminister last week. The offense was led by QB Cam Canales with his efficient 17 for 26 and 214 yard effort. Jared Soll and Jacob Patko had multiple touchdown games. For the owls, all eyes will be on Taylor Loffler. Whether he is playing QB, REC, DB, LB. We can’t wait for this one.
