CFCs “Top 25” High School poll – week 5 – “Falcons & Sabres kiss their sisters” (video)


CFC #1 SΓ©minaire Saint-FranΓ§ois Blizzard held on to their #1 ranking. CFC #2 and CFC #3 Bev Facey Falcons and Salisbury Sabres faced one another…and fittingly the game ended tied 17 to 17. Both teams retained their ranking.

Depending on when scores are reported the ‘Top 25’ is released weekly between Sunday 6pm and Monday 12 noon.

Continued winning ways against Γ‰. sec. Jacques-Rousseau this weekend with a 32 to 10 victory. Play Externat St-Jean-Eudes Condors this Saturday on the road. Defense will have to come up big as the Condors are the second highest scoring team in Juvenile division 1A.

Tied CFC #3 Salisbury Sabres 17 to 17. Play Austin O’Brien this week.

3 (3) Salisbury Sabres – Sherwood Park, AB (5-0-1)

Tied CFC#2 Bev Facey Falcons 17 to 17. Play St. Albert this week.

4 (4) St. Andrew’s Saints – Aurora, ON (3-0, 1-0)

Defeated Ashbury College (Ottawa) 47 to 14. Receiver Jamal Kett went off for 4 touchdowns and 250 yards receiving. Yannick Harou chipped in with 150 yards rushing and 1 touchdown. League bye this week. Play Holy Trinity (Courtice), last year’s Metro Bowl champions, this Wednesday in an exhibition match.

5 (5) Herman Griffins – Windsor, ON (2-0)

Defeated Massey by a score of 34 to 7. Play Sandwich secondary this week.

6 (6) Cardinal Newman Cardinals – Stoney Creek, ON (3-0)

Defeated St. Jean de Brebeuf 45 to 14. This Friday play Cathedral who are 0-3.

7 (7) Nelson Lords – Burlington, ON (3-0, 1-0)

Hammered Loyala 38 to 12. Scoring touchdowns for the Lords was Doug Corby, Brad Taylor, Pat Stapleton, Josh Vandeweerd, and Emmet Law. Next game is October 6th (6pm) vs. MM Robinson Rams.

8 (9) CollΓ¨ge Notre-Dame Cactus – Montreal (5-1)

Defeated AcadΓ©mie Saint-Louis 35 to 13. Defense continues to be the strength of the squad. Visit Γ‰. sec. Pointe-LΓ©vy Friday evening.

9 (8) Oak Park Raiders – Winnipeg (4-0)

Defeated Sturgeon Heights Huskies (2-2) Wednesday 25 to 15. Up next is Kelvin, who are coming off a 55-0 loss to St. Paul’s.

10 (12) St Thomas More Knights – Vancouver, BC (0-0, 3-0)

Had a bye this week. Travel to Burnaby to face WJ Mouat in first game of league play on Friday.

11 (13) St. Paul’s Crusaders – Winnipeg (4-0)

Crushed the Kelvin Clippers 55 to 0. Have yet to give up a point in 4 league games. Names to remember on that defense: Quinn Horton, Andrew Johnson, Lucas Machado, Mackenzie Cooke, Leon Cenerini, Matt Kochan, and Connor Lesperance.

12 (11) Riffel Royals – Regina, SK (4-0)

Struggled in shut out victory over Knoll 17 to 0. The Rochdale rivalry featured more objectional conduct penalties than points. Royals RB Mason Rossler continues his fine play with 213 yards on 26 carries and 2 touchdowns. Play Greenall this week.

13 (HM) W.J. Mouat Hawks – Abbotsford, B.C. (0-0, 3-1)

Dismantled the Vancouver College Fighting Irish 42 to 14 in the final non-conference match up. β€œBig play” Devin Logan showed off his speed with a 95 yard rushing play down to the three yard line. Nathan Henczel was a ball hawk, picking off 2 irish passes. Hawks open up at home against St. Thomas More.

14 (14) Catholic Central Crusaders (CCH) – London, ON (2-0, 0-1)

Continued their strong defensive play with a 14 to 10 victory over AB Lucas. Play Mother Teresa this week, a pivotal game in London high school.

15 (16) Notre Dame – Calgary (4-0)

Defeated Calgary rival Bishop O’Byrne this week 28 to 0. Play Bowness this week.

16 (17) Mount Douglas Rams – Victoria, B.C. (0-0, 2-2)

Defeated Pitt Meadows 54 to 13 in final non-conference game. Rams QB Jordan Deverill had two touchdown passes and Terrell Davis rushed 4 times for 51 yards and one touchdown. Play host to Notre Dame Jugglers on Friday.

17 (18) Holy Trinity Titans – Oakville, ON (2-1)

Easy victory over TA Blakelock 54 to 0. Play traditional rival Notre Dame this week.

18 (22) Aden Bowman Bears – Saskatoon (5-0)

Defeated P.A. Carlton Crusaders 50 to 2. Tyler Hurlburt and Kenton Vinding caught first quarter touchdowns for Bowman. The Bears have only given up 20 points in 5 games. Play Centennial at the Gordie Howe Bowl Thursday night.

19 (20) Harry Ainlay Titans – Edmonton (5-0)

Continue to impress by beating Ross Sheppard 46 to 0. Play Spruce Grove this week.

20 (15) Lakeshore Gators – Port Colborne, ON (3-0)

Defeated Notre Dame in Welland this week by a score of 8 to 7. Mack Steele scored their lone touchdown in the muddy conditions. Face St. Paul’s this week…potential game of the week.

21 (19) Mother Teresa – London, ON (2-0, 0-1)

Defeated Oakridge 22 to 9. Play Catholic Central this week…potential game of the week.

22 (23) Externat St-Jean-Eudes Condors – Quebec City (5-1)

Defeated College Jean-Eudes 46 to 13. Play CFC #1 Séminaire Saint-François at home Saturday evening. QB Alexandre Gagnon will have to continue his strong play for the Condors to take down the Blizzard.

23 (24) Leo Hayes Lions – Fredericton, NB (4-0)

Defeated Bernice McNaughton 28 to 14 after taking a 21 to 7 halftime lead. The Lions scored all 4 touchdowns threw the air. Have a bye this week.

Game versus Halifax West was postponed until tonight due to field conditions.
