CFCs “Top 25” High School poll – Week 6 “New #1: Hello Centennial & Huron Heights”


CFCs weekly high school poll for 12-man (11-man in BC) football teams across the country from Antigonish, Nova Scotia to Victoria, British Columbia.

The poll will include teams from all 8 high school playing provinces (PEI & Newfoundland do not play high school tackle football).

1 (3) W.J. Mouat Hawks – Abbotsford, B.C. – (5-0, 1-0)

Defeated Lord Tweedsmuir 35 to 0. Cam Bedore threw a TD passes to Desmond Bassi, Luke Friesen, Tanner Hamade and called his own number once. Hamade also scored on a pick 6. John Watson had 2 interceptions.

2 (10) Collège Notre-Dame Cactus – Montreal (7-0)

Defeated previous CFC #1 É. sec. Curé-Antoine-Labelle les Loups 51 to 13 in CFC game of the week. The cactus traveled down the road to Laval and put a thumping on les loups.

3 (5) Raymond Comets – Raymond, AB (4-0)

Beat Grande Prairie 75 to 3. Next week face Winston Churchill.

4 (2) Aden Bowman Bears – Saskatoon – (5-0)

Defeated Prince Albert St. Mary’s 29 to 7. Defense continues to shine giving up a total of 13 points in five games.

5 (4) Herman Griffins – Windsor, ON (4-0)

In a CFC game of the week the Herman Griffins faced their toughest opponents to date in Newman Conference action versus Villanova. The griffins who only gave up 3 points in the 3 previous games led 22 to 13 after three quarters, and scored one final touchdown to take the victory 29 to 13. Arjen Coloquhoun scored 3 TDs, and QB Josh Deehan has one rushing TD. Herman’s lack of discipline may hurt them down the road.

6 (8) Lakeshore – Port Colborne, ON (5-0)

Defeated Denns Morris 61 to 0 and continue to dominate the Niagara region. Play 2 and 3 stamford this week. Lakeshore probably won’t be challenged in Niagara until the playoffs when they will face St. Paul…probably.

7 (6) Terry Fox Ravens – Port Coquitlam, BC (1-0, 5-0)

Defeated St. Thomas More 33 to 0. QB Cam Canales rushed for 2 TDs and threw for on e in the victory. Tanner White had a pick 6 late in the game.

8 (7) Nelson Lords – Burlington, ON (3-0)

Defeated Georgetown by a score of 50 to 12. Josh Vandeweerd continued his strong play with 2 TDs and a 2 point convert. Doughie Corby chipped in with two majors and Cory Babiak, Erick Juhl and Tanner Philp each had one. The lords face off against Holy Trinity this week which will maybe a CFC game of the week.

9 (11) Citadel Phoenix – Halifax (5-0)

Hammered the 3-0 Cobequid Cougars in Truro 70 to 13. Look to be unstoppable this year.

10 (12) St. Paul’s Crusaders – Winnipeg (5-0)

Defeated Vincent Massey 32 to 0. Big game this week versus CFC # Oak Park. The game is friday 5:15 at CanadInns stadium.

11 (13) St. Andrew’s – Aurora, ON (3-0)

Defeated previously undefeated Crestwood Mustangs (Peterborough) 42 to 10 in an exhibition game.

12 (19) St. Thomas More – Hamilton (4-0)

Defeated St Jean Brebeuf 21 to 1 who were previously undefeated.

13 (8) Bev Facey Falcons – Sherwood Park, AB (7-0)

Defeated Austin O’Brien 33 to 20. Have the bye next week.

14 (20) Oak Park Raiders – Winnipeg (5-0)

Defeated Kelvin 68 to 0. Playing for first place against CFC # this friday at CanadInns stadium. Huge game in winnipeg.

15 (1) É. sec. Curé-Antoine-Labelle les Loups – Laval, QC – (6-1)

Les Loups (wolves) lost to previous CFC #10 Collège Notre-Dame Cactus at home 51 to 13.

16 (NC) Harry Ainlay Titans – Edmonton (4-0)

Defeated Brooks 35 to 7 and play tough match against CFC ‘HM’ Spruce Grove this week.

17 (NC) Chaminade – Toronto (2-0)

Defeated Martingrove 31 to 0. John Piazza had a breakout game with 3 TDs and Tevaun Smith and John DeLuca eash had one. Marvin Bannor kicked one field goal and 5 converts.

18 (NC)
Bernice MacNaughtan – Moncton, NB (3-0)

They had the bye this weekend.

19 (15) Vancouver College – Vancouver (3-0, 4-2)

Defeated Mt. Douglas 34 to 16. Lead at half 23 to 0 and continued to run a balanced offensive attack led by QB Jeff Tichelman (2 TD passes). RB Tyler Fong is starting to make a name for himself on the west coast.

20 (21) Kelowna Owls – Kelowna, BC (1-0, 5-1)

QB Taylor Loffler scored on an 11 yard run, scooped up a fumble for a TD on defense, and threw a nine yard TD pass. The Owls defeated the Salmon Arm Golds 36 to 6. Brook Blackmore scored on first play of the game for the owls. Taylor Loffler, Dane Peterson, Eli Haynes and Graham Fawcett combined for 19 tackles and one sack and did not give up a first down until the second half.

21 (NR) Centennial – Saskatoon (5-0)

Defeated previous CFC #17 Holy Cross 25 to 14.

22 (NC) Donald A. Wilson Gators – Whitby, ON (2-0)

Had the bye this week. Face a tough test in St. Mary’s (CFC ‘HM’ last week) this thursday at 1:00. Don’t face Holy Trinity (CFC ‘HM’) until November 2nd.

23 (24) Notre Dame – Burlington, ON (3-0)

Defeated TA Blakelock 42 to 0. Play Abbey Park on Wednesday. Injuries and two way players may be their downfall.

24 (23) Resurrection – Kitchener, ON (3-0)

Defeated Sir John A. Macdonald highlanders 23 to 21. Glorian Ganza scored 3 TDs. Have not lost a waterloo county game since week one of 2008. Face another big test against Jacop hespeler hawks on friday.

25 (NR) Huron Heights – Newmarket, ON (4-0)

Defeated King City 21 to 11 (Christian DeFreitas, 2TD, Derek Pisani, TD, Hayden Armstrong, 3C)
