CFL (Canada Football League) Season, Schedule & Odds

American Football is one of the most favored sports in the world, many love to watch this Football League, and of course love to bet on it. However, their neighbor country, Canada, also provides an interesting football league, it is called CFL. The Canadian Football League (CFL) is the largest Canadian football league competition in Canada and all participating teams are located in Canada. The CFL was officially founded in 1956. The CFL is the highest level in Canadian football and is the most popular major sport in Canada, after the National Hockey League. As one of the most famous sports in Canada, many sport betting companies provide gamblers to put a bet on this league. The league consists of nine of the greatest football teams, with each team based in a different city (West and East division). Divided into two divisions namely West and East, where each division consists of four or five teams. The regular season runs for nineteen weeks, starting in mid-June to early November. Each team plays eighteen times (every week) and gets one week’s scheduled bye. Six of the eight football teams will  play in the CFL´s three-week playoffs. The play will be finalized in the Gray Cup Championship which is held in late November.

The 2020 Canadian Football League season is the 67th season of the modern Canadian Football League. However, based on the fact, it is considered as the 63rd professional football season of the league. The 2020 CFL was originally planned to start exactly on June 11, 2020. However, right on April 7 2020, the start of the Canadian Football League season was delayed, like every other sport in the world.It was planned to start no sooner than July  2020 courtesy of COVID-19 pandemic in Canada.  Unfortunately, on August 17 2020, the Canada Football League (CFL) announced that the season had been cancelled. So, in 2020, there were no 2020 CFL which disappoint a lot of people

Current Season : 2021 CFL

Because of the cancelled 2020 CFL, the 2021 Canada Football League season is the 67th season of the modern Canadian Foot League and based on the fact, it is considered as the 63rd professional football season of the league.Canada Professional football season of the league. The regular season started on August 5, 2021. The 2021 season is also scheduled to end on November 20, 2021. The amount of 14 regular season games will be played over the course of 16 weeks. At first, the season was planned to start on June 10, 2021 and end on October 30, 2021, with the total of 18 games being played per team or club over the course of 21 weeks. However, this was delayed courtesy of the COVID-19 pandemic in Canada. Hamilton, a city in Canada, is planned to host the 108th Grey Cup on December 12, 2021.  The Grey Cup is named for the final game of the Canadian Football League (CFL). It is also known as the trophy or cup that is awarded to the victorious team playing for winning the championship of professional Canadian football.

In this season, there are 9 teams playing. First, from the west division, there are Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Saskatchewan Roughriders, BC Lions, Edmonton Elks, as well as Calgary Stampeders. While for the east division, there are the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Toronto Argonauts, Montreal Alouettes as well as Ottawa Redblacks.

2021 CFL Schedule, Prediction and Odds

Last season winner (2019 CFL season), Winnipeg Blue Bombers are the favorite. With their quarterback SeanMcguire and running back Johnny Augustine, they will try to defend their title from their old nemesis Hamilton Tiger Cats. Hamilton Tiger Cats’ ace player, Sean Thomas Erlington will be the one to watch as his speed proved to be decisive to the title race.

Meanwhile, Toronto Argonauts will depend on the best teamwork of the Wide Receiver,  Kurleigh Gittens, Jr. WR and Quarterback McLeod Bethel-Thompson.  The captain of Montreal Alouettes, Sean Jamieson, will lead the linemen to try to challenge the title from Winnipeg Blue Bombers. 

While the other team in the west, like Saskatchewan Roughriders, BC Lions is gonna make a disturbance for the other team. The key is their talented players, Kian Schaffer-Baker from Saskatchewan Roughriders and Michael Reilly from BC Lions. They will have to prove their worth in front of the loyal fans.

However, the most interesting club is the Ottawa Redblacks. One of their players has won the CFL top performers of the week, namely Abdul Kanneh. They are one of the favorites that fans want them to win in this 2021 CFL season.

The schedule is quite tight this weekend (September 25th, 2021), as the Montreal Alouettes will face off against the Toronto Argonauts. It is one of the big matches this weekend. The other is the Saskatchewan Roughriders versus the BC Lions. It will be interesting to see two talents Kian Schaffer-Baker fought against Michael Reilly.

In conclusion, the two giant teams, Winnipeg Blue Bombers are still the favourite to win the title again this year, and Hamilton Tiger Cats, will keep them on their tail to steal the title from them. While other team, like Ottawa Redblacks, Toronto Argonauts, Montreal Alouettes, etc, will always disturb the title race
