CFL cut down day: Brannagan, Sagaesse some of big names released. Will any end up on Team Canada?

CFL teams have until 3 p.m. ET on Saturday to make their final cuts. Clubs must get their rosters down to 46 players, of which only 42 dress for games. The Argos released QB Danny Brannigan and the Alouettes released Renaldo Sagaesse, two of the bigger name Canadians to be released. Teams can, and have, put some of these players on their 7-man practice rosters (once clearing waivers). The Canadian Senior National Team has 10 spots remaining to fill and are waiting to hear final word from today’s cuts, in hopes of adding to the already impressive lineup, including Adrianno Belli and Sherko Haji-Rasouli.

Also, Drew Tate, Calgary Stampeder back up QB (#2) dislocated his shoulder in their final pre-season match up meaning Brad Sinopoli will for sure start the season as an active member of the Stampeders, therefore foregoing his final year of eligibility at Ottawa U.

Note:
CFL teams can have up to seven players on the PR once they clear the 48-hour waiver period. Some of the players below will be added to practice rosters.
