CFL fines 8 players for week 14 infractions


TORONTO (October 5, 2011) – The Canadian Football League (CFL) announced today that it has fined the following players undisclosed amounts:

Hamilton Tiger-Cats offensive lineman Belton Johnson for a ‘leg whip’ on an opponent in last Saturday’s game against the Toronto Argonauts.

Toronto Argonauts defensive lineman Ricky Foley for an illegal hit, which led to his ejection in Saturday’s game against the Tiger-Cats.

BC Lions defensive lineman Khalif Mitchell for a hit in which he led with his helmet and made primary contact with Eskimo Jerome Messam‘s helmet.

Edmonton Eskimo running back Jerome Messam for punching an opponent during Friday’s game against the BC Lions which led to his ejection.

BC Lions Korey Banks, Solomon Elimimian, Tad Kornegay and Dante Marsh for their roles in an altercation during the fourth quarter of Friday’s game against the Eskimos.
