CFL – Queen’s Carter signs with Blue Bombers

WINNIPEG — The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are pleased to announce today they have signed non-import linebacker Thaine Carter.

Carter was chosen 45th overall by the Blue Bombers in the 2009 Canadian Draft. Carter returned to Queens for the 2009 season, rehabbing an injury throughout the year.

In 2008, Carter had a spectacular season at Queens. He became the first player from that school to earn the Presidents’ Trophy as the country’s top defender. He led the team in tackles for the second-straight season while adding three sacks, two forced fumbles and a pair of fumble recoveries in eight games

β€œThaine has had a great career at the CIS level and we look forward to him competing for a spot on our 2010 roster,” said head coach Paul LaPolice.
