Two CEGEP defensive standouts newest recruits to join OUA team’s 2014 class.
The Carleton Ravens got an early Christmas present.
On Thursday, two CEGEP standouts, who are teammates and friends, officially committed to the OUA team. Michael Black and James McCallum are the newest Ravens and will join the team for the 2014 season.
Black (6’0, 175 pound defensive back from Ottawa, Ontario) and McCallum (6’1, 180 pound defensive back from Mississauga, Ontario) recently capped off their CEGEP Division 1 careers with the Champlain-Lennoxville Cougars by winning a Bol D’Or Championship this past November.
Ravens Head Coach Steve Sumarah is ecstatic that both CEGEP players have joined the fold and is looking forward to their future contributions.
“Mike and James have come from a winning program (Champlain College Bol D’Or Champions) and both will bring that attitude to our program going forward,” commented Sumarah after the signings. “Having both in guys commit to Carleton University means a lot to our program as they will help us continue to move forward in our development as a program.”
“We are excited to have them and look forward to watching them develop and grow both academically and athletically here at Carleton.”
