Big offensive impact (VIDEO)

Jamahll Charles

CEGEP receiver newest recruit to join AUS team’s 2014 class.

One AUS team has landed a CEGEP standout and in the process has addressed a significant gap on their offensive unit.

Jamahll Charles is the newest member of the Acadia Axemen.  The 6’3, 210 pound receiver from Ottawa, Ontario has committed to the Axemen for the 2014 AUS season.

The Axemen are thrilled to have Charles as part of the fold and have high expectations for him in years to come.

“Jamahll is an exceptional receiver, athletic, great vertical, can run crisp routes and has great ball skills,” commented Axemen Head Coach Jeff Cummins.  “At 6’3, he is a huge target and will be very effective in the Red zone; we have tabbed him as a younger more developed freshman than our former all Canadian Ivan Birungi.”

“We expect big things from Jamahll and assume he will make a big impact with us as we graduate three starting receivers this year including All Can Taylor Renaud who has signed with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers over Christmas break. This is what we do at Acadia University we bring in great players graduate them and send them to the CFL!”

The Ontario receiver recently completed his CEGEP career with Division 1 team Vanier Cheetahs.  Charles previously suited up for his high school team, Franco Cite Falcons of the National Capital Secondary School Athletic Association (NCSSAA). Moreover, he has represented his home province as a member of Team Ontario East at three consecutive Football Canada Cups – Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in 2009 Wolfville, Nova Scotia in 2010 and Lethbridge, Alberta in 2011.
