CIS East West Bowl broadcast schedule announced


LONDON, Ont – Rogers TV scores a touchdown with exclusive coverage of the 2010 East-West Bowl, presented by Under Armour featuring the top football players in Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) football. Hosted by The University of Western Ontario at TD Waterhouse stadium, live coverage will air on Rogers TV, Cable 13 on Saturday, May 8th at 1:00 PM, with an encore at 8:00 PM.

Eighty-nine football players representing universities from across Canada will participate. Four Western Mustang all-stars will represent the West team including: safety, cornerback and London native, Craig Butler, Mustangs linebacker, defensive captain and reigning OUA defensive MVP John Surla, guard Matthew Norman and wide receiver Zach Bull. CIS announced Monday the 89 football players who will participate in the eighth annual East West Bowl, presented by Under Armour, on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at TD Waterhouse Stadium.

“Our outstanding partnership with Rogers TV, Cable 13, will extend to this national event, which is a great showcase for university football,” says Therese Quigley, Director of Sports and Recreation Services at The University of Western Ontario. “We thank Rogers for their continuing support.”

Joining Rogers TV’s broadcast team to provide colour commentary alongside play by play analyst Chris McLeod will be former Western Mustangs running back and two-time Grey Cup champion Duane Forde. First Local sports anchor Jeremy Parking will bring viewers sideline reports throughout the game.

The East-West Bowl, organized with the help of the Canadian University Football Coaches Association (CUFCA) and in partnership with the CFL, brings together the top CIS football players for a week of practice and evaluation, culminating with this annual all-star game.
