Although the weather was less than cooperative with pouring rain and cold temperatures, the Knights were able to use their speed to overcome the physically bigger Bears.

The Trinity College Bears had a rough season, finishing with a 0-5 record. The last game was another tough loss as it was the closest game the Bears had in 2012.

Villanova had a good year as they came very close to making the playoffs. Their week one win over the powerhouse St. Michael’s College had the entire league talking about the small school from King City. Outstanding players included running back Alex Montini, receiver Domenic Battistella, linebacker Diego Nafarrate and receiver Stefan Lazzer. Unfortunately, these players will all be graduating this upcoming spring, and will not be playing for the Knights in 2013. However, not all is lost at Villanova. Linebackers Simon Gennaro and Jeremy Asiffo will be returning for their senior year along with offensive lineman Patric Minuti.

Villanova will need to do a little more recruiting come next season as there are only 23 players currently in the junior varsity program. “Our primary goal for next year is to make the playoffs and improve our numbers”, says Villanova head coach Marcello Lio. “Our limited numbers is what are main issue will be for next year”.

Both teams played great this year and best of luck to both schools next season
