CJFL announce 2017 All-Canadians, Rookie of the Year named

OFFENSE

The Prairie Conference have six All-Canadians while the BC Conference have four.  In all there are 13 Offensive All-Canadians.

Offensive Line

Christian Krause – Westshore Rebels (second consecutive season)

Jack Hanna – Edmonton Huskies

Mason Ochs – Saskatoon Hilltops

Kirk Simonsen – Saskatoon Hilltops

Austin Rowe – London Beefeaters

Receivers

Brycen Mayoh – VI Raiders – 44 receptions for 805 yards* and 12 touchdowns*

Paul Levi – Regina Thunder –  41 receptions for 575 yards and 6 touchdowns

Malcolm Carter – Ottawa Sooners – 23 receptions for 438 yards and 7 touchdowns

Trea Ivey – Hamilton Hurricanes – 33 receptions for 727 yards and 6 touchdowns

Running Backs

Trey Campbell – Westshore Rebels – He won the BC Conference rushing crown and carried 126 times* for 814 yards and 9 touchdowns

Logan Fischer – Saskatoon Hilltops – 121 carries for 804 yards and 11 touchdowns*

Quarterback

Brad Launhardt – Edmonton Huskies (second consecutive season) – 147 completions, 1,984 yards, 18 touchdowns, a completion percentage of 61% and an efficiency rating of 103.9%

Place Kicker

James Parker – VI Raiders – He was 21* of 25, good for 84%

The CJFL Major Award winners will be announced on Friday November 10, 2017 during the Canadian Bowl Banquet of Champions.

The 110th Canadian Bowl will kick-off Saturday November 11, 2017 at 1:00pm at Alumni Field in Windsor Ontario.

 

DEFENSE

The Prairie Conference led the CJFL with six All-Canadians.

In total there are 13 Defensive All-Canadians and one Return Specialist All-Canadian.

Defensive Line

Adam Slikboer – Windsor AKO Fratmen – 13 tackles, 3 assisted tackles and 4 sacks

Riley Pickett – Saskatoon Hilltops – 15 tackles, 8 assisted tackles, 9 sacks and 1 knockdown

Quinton Bowles – VI Raiders – 24 tackles, 5 assisted tackles, 11.5 sacks,* and 1 fumble recovery

Donovan Burgmaier – Edmonton Huskies – 16 tackles, 1 assisted tackle, 6 sacks, 2 fumble recoveries, 1 for a touchdown

Linebackers

Oscar Reddecop – London Beefeaters – 27 tackles, 3 assisted tackles and 6 sacks

Jassen Brown – Edmonton Huskies – 42 tackles, 6 assisted tackles, 1.5 sacks, 1 knockdown, 1 forced fumble and 1 interception

Conor Richard – Okanagan Sun – 29 tackles, 7 assisted tackles, 2 sacks, 1 blocked kick, 4 knockdowns, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery and 1 interception for a touchdown

Defensive Backs

Marcus Severe – Ottawa Sooners – 14 tackles, 3 assisted tackles, 3 knockdowns, 1 fumble recovery and 3 interceptions

Jayden Dalke – Edmonton Wildcats – 61 tackles*, 4 assisted tackles, 1 sack and 1 interception

Tye Kitzman – Okanagan Sun – 29 tackles, 8 assisted tackles, 10 knockdowns, 6 interceptions and 1 touchdown

Colton Holmes – Saskatoon Hilltops –  22 tackles, 9 assisted tackles, 1 sack, 1 fumble recovery and 1 knockdown

Justin Hodinsky – Edmonton Huskies – 31 tackles, 1 assisted tackle, 4 knockdowns, 2 fumble recoveries, 3 interceptions and 1 for a touchdown

Punter

Cole Sabourin – Edmonton Huskies – 53 punts, 1,521 net yards, 28.7 net average and 1 single point

Return Specialist

Brycen Mayoh – VI Raiders – 39 punt returns for 561 yards, an average of 14.4 yards a return and one-68 yard touchdown.  He also tallied 20 kicks-off returns for 578 yards averaging 28.8 yards a return.  Mayoh added three missed field goal returns averaging 59.3 yards and broke a 128 yard return for a touchdown.

The CJFL All-Canadian Offensive players will be announced on Thursday November 9, 2017.

The CJFL Major Award winners will be announced on Friday November 10, 2017 during the Canadian Bowl Banquet of Champions.

The 2017 Canadian Bowl will kick-off Saturday November 11, 2017 at 1:00pm at Alumni Field in Windsor Ontario.

 

Receiver Brandon MacIsaac of the Calgary Colts

The CJFL is proud to announce the 2017 Rookie of the Year.

Receiver Brandon MacIsaac was a difference maker for the Calgary Colts in just his first season.   He racked up 35 receptions and led the Colts with 567 yards and scored three touchdowns.  His 16.2 yards a catch helped the Colts offence move the football down the field.
