CJFL Defensive Players of the Week: William, Swatez & Yantz

The Canadian Junior Football Conference is pleased to announce the Defensive Players of the Week:

PFC – Week 3

Defensive Back #4 Colton William ā€“ Edmonton Huskies
The Edmonton Huskies would record their third straight win to open the season this past weekend.Ā Ā  Their defense would get on the scoreboard, compiling 14 points, led by the PFC Defensive Player of the Week Colton William.Ā  He would intercept a pass and return it 98 yards for a major to swing the momentum into the Huskies favour.Ā  He would also tally five solo tackles.

BCFC – Week 6

Defensive Back #9 Braden Swatez ā€“ Westshore Rebels
The Westshore Rebels defense had a hand in their first win of the season this past weekend.Ā  Defensive Back Braden Swatez would pick off two passes and return them a total of 40 yards to help give the offense excellent field position.Ā  Swatez would also make one tackle; one special teams tackle and had an assist.Ā  He is the ā€œBC Lions Defensive Player of the Week.ā€

OFC – Week 3

Linebacker #49 Ryan Yantz ā€“ Predators Football
Sparking his Predators Football team to narrowly defeat the GTA Bears by a score of 26-25 in overtime, LB #49 Ryan Yantz had a dominant performance on defense with a massive total of 23 points, resulting from nine tackles, three assists, and one fumble recovery, earning him the honours of Week 3 OFC Defensive Player of the Week. Ryan is only 20-years old and is currently a first year player with the Predators. According to the Predators organization, Ryan brings great emotion to the field, along with his aggressive and physical style of play. His desire rubs off on his teammates, lifting their level of play as well.
