CJFL Players of the Week – October 7 – Shott takes 2 of 3

CJFL Outstanding Offensive Player of the Week
Steven Shott – Receiver – Okanagan Sun

The Okanagan Sun clinched home field advantage throughout the 2010 post season thanks
in large part to one player. As a matter of fact this player is both the Offensive AND
Special Teams Player of the Week. Sun kicker/receiver Steven Shott had a career day on
Sunday catching six passes for 213 yards and had two touchdowns including an 88 yard
major. He would also run 41 yards on two muffed punts which would keep drives alive.

CJFL Outstanding Defensive Player of the Week
Drew Morris – Linebacker – Ottawa Sooners

Drew collected his second defensive award in the 22-15 victory over the Brampton
Bears. His outstanding play earned him 28 defensive points. He was credited with 7 solo
tackles, 8 assisted tackles, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and a special teams tackle.

CJFL Outstanding Special Teams Player of the Week
Steven Shott – Kicker – Okanagan Sun

On the Special Teams side of things Shott was 3-3 in field goals setting a new
Canadian Junior Football League record with a 57 yarder. He would also hit
from 19 and 46 yards out and was 5-6 in converts. Shott would compile six
punts for 224 yards and eight kick-offs for 456 yards. It is the fifth time this
season Shott has been named the Special Teams Player of the Week.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
