Graig Newman – Defensive back – Saskatoon Hilltops

The 4th-year safety followed up his 27-point semi-final performance against the Winnipeg
Rifles by racking up 25 more in the Hilltops’ 32-24 PFC title win over the Regina Thunder.
Newman would intercept a Reid Quest pass and return it 20 yards to snuff out the scoring
drive. He would have 4 tackles, 5 assists, a pair of special teams tackles, 2 special teams
assists in addition to a 4th quarter fumble recovery.

Mark Coons – Running back – Regina Thunder

The veteran running back would run the ball 20 times for 144 yards in the Thunder’s 32-24 PFC
Final defeat. Coons would be the catalyst in getting the Thunder offense untracked in the first half.
Coons also recorded 5 catches for 46 yards; one of those was a 10-yard 4th quarter touchdown
which cut the Saskatoon lead to 22-17.

Zach Schmidt – Kicker – Saskatoon Hilltops

The rookie punter/kicker who won the 2010 PFC scoring race with 88 points came through huge
when things mattered most in the Hilltops come from behind championship win. He would
average 40.2 yards on his 9 punts, which included a 66-yard 4th quarter punt from the Hilltop 9-
yard-line which was fumbled and recovered by Saskatoon. Two plays later, Schmidt would hit
the title-clinching 38-yard field goal.
