CJFL Players of the Week September 7

CJFL Outstanding Offensive Player of the Week
Kienan Lafrance – Runningback – Winnipeg Rifles

For the second straight week, the Rifles tailback takes the offensive honour, thanks to his
106-yard rushing effort in Winnipeg’s 21-15 win over the Edmonton Huskies.

That gives him 397 yards on the season, moving past Saskatoon’s Regan Schuler for the conference rushing lead. LaFrance’s 32-yard 1st quarter touchdown run was the only offensive
touchdown in the game. The 2nd-year back added 3 receptions for 48 yards.

CJFL Outstanding Defensive Player of the Week

Sanmi Adereti – Defensive Lineman – Brampton Bears
Sanmi collected the Bears first award in their first OFC season. As are all the Bears, the
rookie collected 21 defensive points in Brampton’s 28-13 loss to the visiting London
Beefeaters. He was credited with 7 solo tackles and 5 assisted tackles. He also had a special
teams tackle.

CJFL Outstanding Special Teams Player of the Week

Mattias Hencke – Kicker – Edmonton Huskies
The Huskie kicker scored all 15 of his team’s points in Sunday’s game, going 5 for 5 in
the Field Goal department in Sunday’s loss connecting from 23, 25, 15, 25 & 15 yards. A
grad of St. Francis High School, Hencke is in his 2nd season with the Huskies.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
