CJFL Outstanding Offensive Player of the Week

Kienan Lafrance – Runningback – Winnipeg Rifles
The second-year tailback from Winnipeg’s Sturgeon Heights Collegiate made his season
debut in Sunday’s 43-36 home opening win over the Edmonton Huskies.

Lafrance would set a Rifles all-time single game rushing record, motoring for 291 yards on 24 carries and scoring 3 touchdowns, thanks to dashes of 66, 1 & 68 yards respectively. Unofficially, the 291-yard performance is the 8th best single game total in conference history. Lafrance also added a 55-yard missed field goal return.

CJFL Outstanding Defensive Player of theWeek

Yann Jourdain – Defensiveback – St Leonard Cougars

Yann collected the defensive award for his outstanding play in the Cougars 37-15
home field victory over the Windsor AKO Fratmen. The 5’11” 185 pounder’s 19
defensive points included 3 solo tackles, one assisted tackle, a blocked kick and 2
interceptions he returned for a total of 27 yards.

CJFL Outstanding Special Teams Player of the Week

Steven Shott – Kicker – Okanagan Sun

For the second consecutive week Okanagan Sun kicker Steven Shott is the BCFC Special
Teams Player of the Week. Shott was 5-7 in field goals, hitting from 16, 24, 27, 30 and
45 yards out and was 8-8 in converts. He would also add five punts for 193 yards and
tallied a single, while his six kick-offs compiled 376 yards. Shott would account for 24 of
the Sun’s 53 points on Saturday night at the Apple Bowl.
