CJFL Offensive POW

PFC WEEK 7:

Running back – #32 Jimmie Airey – Edmonton Huskies

The Edmonton Huskies got a measure of revenge beating their city rivals and collected 428 yards of total offense.Β  The run game alone collected 206 yards, led by the Offensive Player of the Week, running back Jimmie Airey.Β Β  The second year Ardrossan product accounted for three touchdowns, behind 11 carries for 127 yards on the ground and six catches for 124 yards through the air.Β  Its Airey’s first Conference award this season.

BCFC WEEK 10:

Running back – #34 Alex Bradley – Okanagan Sun

The Okanagan Sun primarily used their potent run game to win their seventh straight in Week 10.Β  The ground attack was led by the β€œBC Lions Offensive Player of the Week,” running back Alex Bradley.Β  The Edmonton product collected over half of the yards the Sun would gain on 20 carries.Β  He rushed for 154 yards including a 50 yard touchdown scamper.Β Β  It’s the first time this season Bradley has won this award.

PFC WEEK 7:

Linebacker – #41 Jassen Brown – Edmonton Huskies

The Huskies defense was solid in their second win of the season.Β  Linebacker Jassen Brown led the charge with three sacks, a knockdown and a 24 yard fumble recovery for a touchdown, his best game of the year.Β  It the first time this season Brown as won this award.

BCFC WEEK 10:

Linebacker – #4 Ron Mwamba – Okanagan Sun

The Okanagan Sun defense showed why they are one of the most feared in the entire Canadian Junior Football League creating 10 turnovers.Β  The β€œBC Lions Defensive Player of the Week” is linebacker Ron Mwamba who led the Sun with a fumble recovery, an interception, six solo tackles, three assists and a knockdown.Β  It’s the first time the Edmonton native has won this award.

CJFL Special Teams POW

PFC WEEK 7:

Kicker – #26 Jonathan Heiderbrecht – Edmonton Huskies

With the Huskies scoring 50 points on Saturday night, kicker Jonathan Heiderbrecht accounted for 16 of them.Β  He was a perfect 4-4 in field goals and connected on all four converts.Β  This is the second time the fourth year veteran has won this weekly award.

BCFC WEEK 10:

Returner – #15 Robbie Yochim – Okanagan Sun
For the second consecutive week Okanagan Sun returner Robbie Yochim has been named the β€œBC Lions Special Teams Player of the Week.”  After setting a new CJFL record with three punt returns for touchdowns last week, Yochim’s encore was returning two kick-offs for touchdowns, tying a BCFC record.Β  In all, the Kelowna native returned four kick-offs for 264 yards, a new team record and second all-time in BCFC history.
