CJFL: Russell Athletic players of the week – Marsch, Pinchak, Naylor (video hilites)

Ryan Marsch – Quarterback – Winnipeg Rifles

For the third time in the 2011, the 3rd-year Rifles pivot lays claim to the Offensive Player of the
Week award with another sensational performance in Sunday’s 35-35 tie in Calgary.

Marsch
would complete 31 of 49 passes for 393 yards and throw for 4 major scores. The 393-yard day
gave him a season total of 3,030 yards which is a new CJFL single season passing yards record.
While the 4 touchdown tosses ties the PFC single-season record for touchdown passes with 31.

Skylar Pinchak – Defensiveback – Calgary Colts

The 4th-year defensive back from Cardston, Alberta had a phenomenal regular season finale in Sunday’s 35-35 tie with the Winnipeg Rifles. Pinchak had 5 tackles, 3 assisted stops, a special teams tackle, a special teams assist, 1 pass knockdown and a fumble recovery. However, his biggest play of the day was a clutch interception on the game’s final play as he picked off a Ryan Marsch pass at the Colts 18. That would thwart a potential Winnipeg game-winning drive. The 24 point afternoon gave Pinchak 88 defensive points, which places him 5th in the conference.

Nick Naylor – Kicker – Langley Rams

The Langley Rams blowout victory on Saturday night in Westshore saw a number of
terrific individual efforts including the play of the BCFC Special Teams Player of the
Week, Rams kick Nick Naylor. The rookie 19 year old accounted for 10 of the Rams
42 points hitting two field goals from 32 and 40 yards out respectively. He would also
tally four converts and seven punts for 251 yards pinning the Rebels deep. The
Abbotsford native would also record six kick-offs for 353 yards. It’s the first award for
Naylor this season

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
