CJFL Weekend Warriors: Cameron Brown

An All-Canadian and three time BCFC All-Star

After a successful junior career Kamloops Broncos’ offensive lineman Cameron Brown graduated following the 2015 season.

The Vanderhoff BC native played three solid campaigns for the Broncos culminating with an All-Canadian performance this past season.

In 2015 Brown at 6’0-315 pounds, anchored a line that had to be good for the Broncos to have success and they did not disappoint. Quarterback Steve Schuweiler had a career year with a CJFL high 213 completions, 3,050 yards and 27 touchdowns.Β  Without the blocking upfront, it could have been a different season offensively for the passing attack.

Brown and company not only blocked well in the passing game, but the Broncos also had the CJFL’s lone 1,000 yard rusher.Β  Jacob Palmarin collected 1,089 yards and 13 rushing touchdowns taking advantage of the “truck sized” holes Brown helped open up in the trenches.

In his three seasons with the Broncos, Brown was named a BCFC All-Star each year and an All-Canadian in 2015.

On April 23 Brown will fly to the Nation’s capital to take part in the Ottawa REDBLACKS open tryouts and is hopeful to be invited to the BC Lions Evaluation Camp.

One thing is for sure, wherever he decides to play the offensive line will be better for it.

Cameron Brown is a CJFL Weekend Warrior.
