CJFL: Winkel named as new Wildcats Running Backs Coach

Jarred Winkel will be joining the Wildcats for the 2016 season as our new Offensive Assistant, working with the Running Backs.
Jarred was a former Edmonton Wildcat who played high school football for the Salisbury Sabres.  He played three season with the Wildcats and won the CJFL Rookie of the Year in 1999, before joining the U of A Golden Bears.  He finished his career as the 2nd All-Time leading rusher in their teams history.  Jarred played in the CFL for both the Edmonton Eskimos and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
He last coached in 2013 serving as the Offensive Coordinator for the McNally Tigers. The organization is extremely proud of Jarred and we are very excited to welcome him back home.  We know he will have a major impact on the development of the young men in our organization bringing his passion and a tremendous work ethic to the field everyday.
Other coaching news, Frantz Clarkson will make the move back to the defensive side of the ball working with the DB’s – a position he held from 2007-09. Jason McLean will move to his more comfortable position on the offensive side of the ball, after spending his first season with the Wildcats as a Defensive Assistant.
