Jeff began his football career playing flag football in elementary school at Our Lady of Perpetual Help. IN grade 8 he went to Vancouver College and started as the back up until Adam Konar got hurt before the first game of the season. Jeff started every game that year, as well as every game in his grade 10, 11, and 12 seasons.

Last year as a junior Jeff was 79 for 140 (56.4%) for 1033 yards and 10 touchdowns with 5 interceptions in 8 games. This year he was 114 for 213 (53.5%) for a province leading 1908 yards and 21 touchdowns. Jeff also had 7 interceptions in 12 games. This year Jeff was the western conference offensive MVP, the provincial all-star at quarterback, best back in the Subway Bowl, and Subway Bowl Provincial Champion.

Jeff’s most memorable football experience was winning “the Championship game this year. The amount of preparation, the years of weightlifting and practicing culminated in the best game I have ever seen us play. We executed to perfection, and earned our school’s first provincial championship in 16 years. The feedback we got from the school community and the alumni, all of what we like to call VC Nation, was absolutely unbelievable; it was like years of heartbreak and pain was completely eradicated in one amazing performance.”

“The most influential person in my football career, and my life really, would be Todd Bernett. There’s no way I could hyperbolize the impact he’s had on me, as a coach, mentor, and really as a second father. He told me I was going to be great when I was only in grade 8, and he has spent countless hours making this notion a reality. 4 years of long summers in the weight room, on the practice field, and in the classroom watching film with Coach Bernett is the sole reason for all I’ve been able to accomplish. He genuinely loves and cares for all of his players, and whenever I stepped out of line or messed up, Coach Bernett was always there to mentor me and get me back on track. I am quite sure that I could not have accomplished a fraction of what I’ve been able to, both in the classroom and on the football field, if it hadn’t been for Coach Bernett teaching me how to be a man.”

Using words like ‘hyperbolize’ and ‘ eradicated’ it is no surprise that Jeff is a “president’s honour society member (average over 90%)…98 in physics…not too bad.
