Class 2011: Mitchell Thompson, REC, Regina’s Winston Knoll / Team Saskatchewan

CFC today features class 2011 recruit Regina’s Mitchell Thompson. Mitch, one of the better athletes to come out of Saskatchewan this year, has been playing football since the age of 10.

Mitchell Thompson

Receiver #71

Teams:
Winston Knoll
Team Saskatatchwan

Commitment: None

Consideration:
CIS – Regina, Saskatchewan
CJFL – Regina Thunder

Mitch has been playing since the age of 10 with the Regina Minor football league. He was a Regina high school all star receiver in 2008 and in 2009 was an all star receiver and safety. Mitch competed in the Football Canada cup in 2009 and 2010, both years receiving all star receiver recognition.

His most memorable football moments “are for sure the 2010 Football Canada cup and winning the Nationals with Team Sask. Winning the cities with Winston Knoll last year was a happy moment, but a not so happy memory was losing in the provincials by a point that same year.”

Mitch has his parents to thank for having a great influence on him. “Some of my best memories as a child were learning how to catch a football in my front yard with my dad. My mother has a big influence on my life she helps me keep a level head in the good and bad times. ”

Mitch and teammate Taylor Flavel (future CFC feature) are working hard this off season and may both play for the Regina Thunder in the fall. He is looking forward to his younger brother playing the this years Football Canada cup.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
