Teams:
St. Andrew’s College (High school) #53
Toronto Thunder (OVFL) #50
Commitment: Simon Fraser Clan (NCAA – division 2)

Nicolas started playing football 4 years ago and has seen a steady improvement ever since. He has always played offensive line and love’s it because “I feel it is the backbone of any team”. Last summer he played for the Toronto Thunder varsity team where he was the teams youngest starter. Both 2010 seasons (SAC & Thunder) his teams went undefeated in regular season league play but lost in the playoffs in two hard fought games. At St. Andrew’s he won the “Addison Award” which recognizes substantial career achievement.
His most memorable football experience, although ending in heartbreak, was this past high school season. “The comradery and brotherly feeling on that team was amazing and I loved playing football and being a part of that team. Although we lost in OT in the finals I will never forget that game because I left my all on that field, there was nothing more I could have done. It also happened to be my last ever home game on that field. It was also amazing to be a part of that Oline that has a NCAA D1 Left Tackle, a future star LG, a CIS calibre Centre and myself and NCAA D2 Right Tackle. Along with that blocking for Yannick Harou was a pleasure.”
“The most influential person in my life has to be my Mom. Over the past 2 seasons she has been at nearly every game cheering me on and supporting me in every decision I made. Going out to BC to visit Simon Fraser, she came with me and supports my decision whole ‘heartedly’ to go to school out West. Along with my mom, Coach Gurr and Coach Carroll have been huge influences on my life. They both have provided mentorship through high school and have helped me develop into a complete man.”
Not only a football player, Nicolas has been playing rugby since grade 7 for his school and also Team Ontario. He also played JV high school basketball, where he was a team captain and his team finished second in league play.
Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
