Ron Omara

Linebacker

Teams:
Ottawa Sooners (CJFL)
Cumberland Panthers (OVFL)
Team Canada (U20)

Commitment: None

Consideration: Open

Since starting playing when he was 14 Ron has accumulated awards such as team MVP, defensive MVP and rookie of the year. He has been selected to all star teams on three occasions including this year with the Ottawa Sooners. Ron was arguable the #1 reason the Cumberland Panthers made a late season run to the OVFL championship game in 2010.

Two football experiences stood out for Ron. The first being when “our city team (North Gloucester Giants) won the A cup in 2006. From playoffs to the championship game was just unbelievable, and our team was really close, so it was definitely a win to remember. Also, the Team Canada in 2009 (Canton, Ohio) experience was also definitely up there. Just being able to meet and compete against other countries is something unique and unforgettable. The things I have learned, the friends I have made, and the experience as a whole, I will have with me for the rest of my life.”

Many people have influenced Ron in his life and football. “It would be hard to put one over the other. I would have to say God is the ultimate influence in my life. Among many others, I would have to say my parents, coach Stenio, coach Bino, and coach McEvoy. I have learned a lot about life and football from these people for sure.”

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
