The following season Sam started at outside linebacker but this time they beat Holy Cross in the city finals. In grade 11 Sam started at free safety for Frontenac. That same year, 2009, Sam started for Team Ontario East under 17 squad at the Football Canada cup. In 2010 Sam again was moved to halfback for his high school team and again played for Team Ontario (U18).

Sam’s most memorable football experience was the 2009 Football Canada Cup in Saskatoon. “Having a chance to win and compete in a national championship was an unbelievable experience.”

Sam credits his father as being the most influential person in his life. “He is always there to talk to me after the game. Amazing having someone that loves the game as much as you do and shares the same excitement you have is great. He is always been there for me.”
