Today CFC features class 2012 defensive end from Wolfville, Nova Scotia Adam Melanson. Adam has been playing football since he was 10 years old, starting his career with the Valley Bulldogs.

Adam began his football career in 2004 with the Valley Bulldogs. Over the course of his 5 year affiliation with the Valley program Adam won rookie of the year, lineman of the year, defensive player of the year and team MVP. In 2008 they won the provincial and maritime championship. Adam has played 2 years with his high school, Horton, and has one remaining season this year. In 2009 he won rookie of the year and lineman of the year for the Griffons and was a second team all star and rookie of the year for the league. In 2010 he received team MVP as well as first team Nova Scotia all-star honours and lineman of the league.

Adam has been a captain of all his football teams since 2006 and was a second team all star in the province for high school basketball. Horton placed second in the province in basketball this year.

Adams most memorable football moment “has to be beating Alberta in the first round of the Football Canada Cup and wining provincials and maritimes in bantam football.”

The most influential person in football and life has been “my father Steve Melanson. He has been my coach since pee-wee and is always willing to help me be a better football player ever day. My mom has always been very supportive and will be for the rest of my life.”
