Akeel started playing football with the North York Grizzlies and Toronto Jr. Argos. In grade 9 and 10 he played for Toronto private school St Michael’s College and Team Ontario. Akeel transferred to St. Francis high school in Buffalo, New York in grade 11. He was a 2nd Team Western New York all star and 1st team all-catholic.

Akeel’s most memorable football experience was when he was at St. Mike’s “we made a comeback win against St. Andrew’s College in the 4th quarter.”

Akeel credited Godfrey Lewis as a football mentor. Godfrey has been helping Akeel since grade 9. In life there has been no one more important than his mother.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
