Class 2012 : Concordia Stingers land John Abbott Offensive Lineman Jean Milfort

Jean jr Milfort only began playing football at the CEGEP level. This decision has landed him in the CIS.

Unlike most CIS football players, Jean Milfort began his career at the CEGEP level. Before playing for the John Abbott Islanders, a division 2 college located on the west Island of Montreal, he had no experience playing football. Jean won MVP in his first ever season playing football and has now decided to pursue his career at the CIS level with the Concordia Stingers, also in Montreal.

The 6’3, 294 pound Offensive lineman plays at the left tackle postion and caught the eye of many CIS programs this fall. His blend of size and Quickness has made him among the best lineman available.

Milfort will be graduating from Cegep this year and will be enrolling at Concordia in September of 2012.

Jean added that his decision to try football has given him alot of good memories and more good moments to come. His best memory on the field came in the last regular season game of the 2010 season when his Islanders rallied to come from behind and win the game.

“I will never forget that game, Our Cornerback Chris Lavaud (Laval) made a great interception that gave us the win, it was a great game to be a part of” said Milfort.

His Parents have also played a big role in Jean’s career as they have always been there to support him to do whatever he loved. When Jean tried the sport of football, they pushed him to keep moving forward and become the player that he is today.

“My parents always encouraged me to follow my ambitions, it has been a big help for me in life and football”.

Milfort will head to Concordia trying to help them improve from a 4-5 record last season, good enough for 4th place in the RSEQ.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
