Gasper started his football in grade 5 playing in the Windsor Minor Football Association where his first coach was Chris Church who was inducted into the Lancer Wall of Honour as a lineman. He played running back and broke the league’s touchdown record in his first season (22). From there he moved onto playing for the Peewee Ravens (OVFL) when he was 13, making the switch from running back to defensive back. Since then he played 2 seasons for the junior varsity team and last year with the Varsity team that won the OVFL championship. In 2009 he was selected to represent Ontario at the Football Canada Cup in Saskatoon. His high school team is the Holy Names Knights who he has been playing for the past 4 seasons. In his first year of senior he was voted on the WECSSAA all-city team and was the only grade 11 to earn this honour. He just completed his grade 12 season and earned WECSSAA 1st team honours. He is undecided weather he will play a 5th year.

Gaspers most memorable football experience “would be my first football game, where I still remember my first touchdown I ever scored and got flagged for spiking the ball because I didn’t know what to do with it. Winning the 2010 OVFL Championship is another memory I will charish for a long time.”

The people who have been most influential in his life and football “would be my Father. He goes to any length to help my succeed on and off the field. One of my coaches, Mr. Rocky Ieraci, is another influential person in my life as he always there to offer help and advice. In football, my long time Raven’s coach, Joe Mlinaric, has been with me as I developed into a football player as well as my high school head coach, Rob McIntyre, who has done a lot for me. He provided me with the best opportunities possible to succeed as a football player.”

Gasper has been working hard, attending many football camps around North America. He has not been satisfied with his results so has been working harder training. His high school coach connected him with current CFLer and Holy Names graduate Matt Morence, who he has been training with for 5 months. The goal is to become bigger, faster stronger.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
