Stand out wide receiver, Joshua Stanford, has committed to Virginia Tech for the fall of 2012. Stanford, an Ontario native, has been prepping for the NCAA by playing high school ball in Georgia, and will look to make an impact for the Hokies next fall.

β€œI will be attending Virginia Tech on a full athletic scholarship to play football,” confirms Stanford.

Stanford has a quick first step that allows him to turn short receptions into long touch downs, and a cruising speed that categorizes him as a legitimate deep threat. The NCAA bound wide out also exhibits tremendous body control, which allows him to make catches in traffic, and side step defenders after the catch. He also demonstrates discipline by looking the ball into his hands before plotting his getaway.

In addition to taking over games on offense, Stanford is a capable return man who utilizes his acceleration, speed, and agility to give his squad good field position. Whether on offense or special teams, Stanford is always a threat with the ball in his hands.

β€œGarnett Hart and the Bridge family have been very influential in my football career,” recalls Stanford, as he readies for the biggest challenge of his career. The Canadian will hope to find a niche with the NCAA powerhouse, Virginia Tech.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
