During the last few seasons, Kenny has played for the Brother Andre Cardinals of the York Region Athletic Association (YRAA) and the Markham Raiders of the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL).

The offensive standout has received numerous honours during his time with the Cardinals. They include Coaches team award, best team player and special teams award. Additionally, he was selected to the YRAA all-star team. On May 6th,Kenny will take part in an all-star game at McMaster University as he was selected on the GTA team. Last season, he was amongst the top five receivers in the OVFL.

While with the Cardinals, Kenny experienced a reflective, yet special moment during the YRAA semi-final game.

“I had previously been recovering from a hamstring injury and during the first play of the game, it re-injured itself,” explains the Cardinals wide receiver of the experience. ” After knowing I would not be able to go back in to play, the entire highlight moments of my high school career ran through my head as I knew this was the end of one football chapter and more were just about to be written.”

The next football chapter Kenny is about to write will involve playing for the Queen’s Golden Gaels, as he has recently committed to the school. The strength of its football program and the atmosphere sold Kenny on his decision.

“When making my decision, Queen’s stood out for its profound history of football and the coaches with tremendous knowledge,” comments the future Golden Gaels player. “I also see Queen’s as being a top contender in this league and can make some serious noise when on the field.”

“Asides from the football aspect of my decision, I liked the atmosphere and spirit of the university environment; it was intriguing and drew me as a very welcoming place to be.”

Being able to achieve success on the field would not have been possible for Kenny without the support, encouragement and influence of his coaches and teammates.

“Coaches are always pushing you on the field, not only to become a better player but also a better person in life,” adds the graduating Cardinals offensive star. “Andrew Lue, a former Brother Andre teammate and now current Queen’s teammate has definitely been my big brother; carrying me and teaching me all what I have to do on and off the field to become the best that I can be.”

However, those are not the only individuals Kenny credits for his success.

“The most influential people in my life have to be my parents and my close group of friends, more specifically my mother,” explains the offensive gun. “We are very relatable and much of who I am, such as my character and work ethic, comes from her.”

Over the years, Kenny has participated in several other sports. They include volleyball, soccer, basketball, baseball and track and field.

Once he does arrive at Queen’s, Kenny will pursue his goal of obtaining a bachelor of science in kinesiology. After completion of that degree, the student-athlete plans to get masters in physiotherapy. As for future career goals, he would like to open up his own physiotherapy shop.

The one thing that has led Kenny to success in achieving all his goals is hard work.

“The biggest thing I apply to my daily life is that you have to work in order for what you want to achieve,” comments Kenny. “Nothing comes easy and will only work out for you, if you are willing to put in the time and effort to do so.”

“That goes for anything, whether it be doing school work, with your job or trying to get results in the weight room.”
