Class 2012: LB / FB Chris Mulumba looking at NCAA (VIDEO)

Kent Prep Linebacker Chris Mulumba is looking to pursue career on the other side of the border.

Chris began playing football in Montreal, QC where he suited up for the Chomedey Blues. Chris then pursued his football career with le CurΓ©e Antoine-Labelle. During his time with les Loups, Chris won a Bol d’Or and defensive player of the year (Juvenile AAA). During his time in Canada, he also gained experience on the national level as he was a member of team QuΓ©bec in 2009 and 2010. Chris was QuΓ©bec’s team captain and was named an all canadian in both years.

The 6’1 227 pound Linebacker then made the decision to pursue his career south of the border, where he played football for the Kent Lions, a prep school located in CT. In his senior year at Kent, Chris was named team captain, the defensive player of the year in the Erickson league and also All New-England (top players of the region). His best football moment also came playing for the Lions.

“When we beat Salisbury 41-9, they were the number 1 ranked team in New-England, it was a great feeling” said Mulumba.

He is yet to decide where he will pursue his College football but the one thing he does know, is that he will be playing in the NCAA.

“I am currently considering Buffalo, Ball state, Bucknell, UNH, University of Maine and the University of Albany, I’m looking at what will be my better option”.

What makes Chris so valuable to recruiters is that he has been a very consistant football player and always puts up good numbers. He can also be used as a fullback and on special teams.

Chris added that he ows alot of his success to his good friend and fellow teammate Pierre-Luc Caron and to his head coach Nic Melsbach.

“Pierre-Luc always made sure that my head was in the right place and i was focused, My coach Nic always pushed me to the limit, without those 2 guys, i would not be where i am”.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
