Class 2012: Linebacker/Longsnapper Luka Ricard still looking for right CIS program (VIDEO)

After a very successful CEGEP career with the Champlain-Lennoxville Cougars, Luka Ricard is yet to choose what CIS program is the right one for him.

Luka Ricard started playing football at a very young age, he started his career playing for the Ile-Bizard Vikings, where he played various levels for 8 years. Luka then went on to play in the Midget AAA circuit for the North Shore Lions. When it came time to pursue his education at CEGEP, Luka made the decision to study and to play Football at Champlain-Lennoxville College. Luka has been playing for the Cougars for 3 years. He was named a league all star this season.

The 6’3, 217 lbs Linebacker has also played football on the national and international levels. Luka won a canadian championship in 2008 as he suited up for team QuΓ©bec and then for team Canada in 2009 as they reached the championship game against the United States.

“Winning a canadian championship and playing for team Canada are 2 moments that i will never forget while playing football, they were both great experiences” said Ricard.

Luka will be graduating in December of 2011 and is still looking for the right CIS program to pursue his education and to play football. Luka will be enrolling in physical education come january.

“It has come down to either Sherbrooke or Laval, both schools have alot to offer and have great football programs”.

Luka added that without the support of his parents, he would not have been able to do the things that football has allowed him to do.

“My parents have always been there to encourage me and push me in the right direction. They supported me when i had to make big decisions, they have done alot for me”.
