Terrell Davis ranks as Canadaβs top football prospect for the class of 2012. This fall he will travel south to join the Arizona State Sun Devils with whom he will hunt for BCS success.
Though the trip from Davisβ Victoria home to Phoenix, Arizona will be a long one, it is perhaps emblematic of the lengthy journey he has taken as a football player, which will see him end up in the NCAA after garnering more than a decade of experience. Though he hopes the journey continues with the same momentum he has enjoyed in Canada, Davis points out that he wonβt forget what got him to where he is today.
βMy mom is the most influential [person in my life] by far,β says Davis. βWithout her none of my success would be possible.β
Terrell got his foot in the door when he began competing as a seven year old, with the Saanich Wolverines, and has played every year since. After his tenure with the Wolverines expired at age 13, the young star continued to develop his game at Mount Douglas secondary school. It was during his time with the Rams that scouts and media began to take note of the promising running back.
At the high school level, Davis has compiled a trove of awards. He has been honoured with the MVP for Junior and Varsity AA provincial games, the opportunity to represent BC in the Canada Cup, and the award for being British Columbiaβs high school football player of the year.
Despite the impressive collection of individual accolades Davis has amassed, the award that means the most to the Arizona State bound βback is the provincial championship his high school team won in 2011.
βMy most memorable football-related experience,β Davis recalls, βis winning the 2011 AAA BC high school championship game.β
Though well decorated as a high school player, Davis is not one to sit around and count achievements. βI will graduate from high school in June, and from there I will transition into university right away,β he says, as he readies himself for his toughest challenge yet β the NCAA.
Originally headed to Washington State, Davis revoked his commitment in favour of Arizona State, when the former schoolβs football program executed a coaching change. This situation is a classic case of someoneβs loss becoming someone elseβs gain, as Davis will now have the opportunity to flourish as a Sun Devil.
Davis is an athletic and powerful runner who drags defenders with him as often as he makes them miss. His versatility as an offensive weapon is exemplified by his ability to run and catch the ball efficiently, as well as his potential to provide a spark in the return game.

Davis stylizes his game after Minnesota Vikingsβ pro bowler, Adrian Peterson. Davisβ admiration extends to the former Oklahoma star, not because of his abilities or success, but because βhe runs the football with such determination.β
At ASU, Davis plans to enroll in the Kinesiology program.
Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
