Theo started his football career at the age of 10 with the Greendell Falcons. He has been playing quarterback since the beginning. In grade 9 Theo became the first ever grade nine to make the AAA team.

In 2008 Theo won team rookie of the year and was also nominated for the league (WHSFL) rookie of the year. In 2009, as a grade 10, he won the MVP of the Anavets Bowl and this year won the ‘Elite performance league offensive MVP award. Playing for Manitoba at the Football Canada cup he won player of the game once in 2009 and twice in 2010. He has also won 3 ‘CTV’ player of the week award and been to the Anavets Bowl (WHSFL) three years in a row.

Theo has two memorable football experiences. First being “the day I got the call from Stacy Dainard (St. Paul’s AAA head coach) saying that I made the team. This meant that I was going to play with my older brother Alex (graduated in 2009). My second favorite moment was winning the 2009 anavets bowl. I wanted it so bad for the guys that lost the year before. I also played the best game of my life going 18 for 28 throwing for 275 yards and 5 tds as well as 2 qb sneak touchdowns.

Two people have been a tremendous influence on Theo. “Nic Cobb was the quarterback of the AAA team when I was in grade 9. He was in grade 12 and I looked up to him alot. He gave me advice on just about everything from football to schoolwork to friends. He showed me the ropes on how to lead a team at quarterback. It was an experience I’ll never forget. He led our team that year to the finals but we lost, 28-25.
The other person that I look up to is Shane Munson. He played for the university of Manitoba and led the Bisons to a Vanier cup championship. He is the quarterback coach at St. Paul’s. He is also a trainer at pro fitness, a gym that he trains me at. He’s a guru in my eyes when it comes to football. If I have a question, he will always know the answer.”

Theo is fully bilingual and is looking forward to a big year next year with fellow players Rhys Hansen and Matt Hanks.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
