Troy started playing football 6 years ago, playing 2 years with the peewee Sherwood Park Rams, winning an all-star nomination as a defensive line. He played 2 more years with the Rams bantam team, this time winning a provincial championship in 2008, MVP defensive line, and was selected to play in the Alberta Bantam Bowl (Team North).
In 2009 he started on the offensive line for Bev Facey high school Falcons senior team (grade 10), who were City Carr conference champions. In 2010 he played both offensive and defensive line positions. Troy was recently selected to represent Alberta at the U18 Football Canada Cup being played in Lethbridge in July.
His most memorable football experience was “winning the 2008 Bantam Football Provincials with the Sherwood Park Rams.”
The most influential people in his football career have been “Sherwood Park Rams Coach Jim Skitsko who taught me about discipline and showed me I had potential. Also, Bev Facey high school coach Barclay Spady who taught me to compete and how to get ready for the next level with confidence.” When it comes to live lessons “My parents Kerri & Gerald Weissbach who have giving me support and guidance to grow into a young responsible person. My Brothers Zach & Grant who challenge me in sports and make me laugh.”
Troy wants to continue his football career at the university and pro level some day.
