After 3 strong seasons with Edouard-Monpetit, Charlie Simard-Duguay will look to continue his success with the Redmen.

Charlie began playing football as a young boy. He played his minor football with les Archeurs d’hochelaga, a civil football program located in his hometown of Montreal, QC. Charlie played with les Archeurs untill it was time to head to CEGEP. He chose to pursue his career with les Lynx de Edouard-Monpetit, a team that plays in Division 1. He had 3 strong seasons and proved to be a very dangerous threat in the Lynx offence.

The 6’0 175 pound receiver had his best season in 2011. He finished 4th in receiving yards among all receivers in CEGEP division 1 and had numerous long catches for his team this season. Charlie was recruited by various CIS programs including Laval, Montreal and Ottawa but when it came time to make the decision, Charlie chose McGill.

“Mcgill was the right program for me, I can’t wait to play for the Redmen”. said Simard-Duguay.

His best football moment came when he was a team captain for Montreal-Metro in the Wilson challenge when he was younger. Charlie had an outstanding tournament as he had 7 catches for 278 yards, averaging close to 40 yards per reception. He was named on the tournament all star team.

“That tournament is something I will never forget, I had such great games”.

Charlie will be enrolling at McGill in January of 2012 doing free classes, he plans to enter the Law program come next September.

Charlie joins a Winless McGill team who is looking to turn the program around in the next season. He brings speed to the receiving corps. He hopes to help them in whatever way he can.
