Although the warriors have brought him success, Ferraro plans to take his talents to Burlington where he will represent the red and black, and kick for the Stampeders. Ferraro has also been apart of the GTA Rising starts all-star team, where he played last year(2011) and will once again this year.

While playing for his high school team, he has been lucky enough to experience success, as he has won the ROPSSAA title both in 2009 and in 2010. Along with his titles through school, Ferraro won the JV OVFL title this past summer. With a bit of hard work and the passion that Ferraro has for the game, their is no doubt he will walk into every season he starts in 2012, with a winning mentality, one which will surely make him a champion.

When being a kicker, often times you are put into a position, where everything rests on your shoulders. Ferraro has accepted that job, and has flourished at his position. Along with his titles, many of his personal achievements include making the GTA all-star team two years in a row. Ferraro has also attended the Filip Filipovic cam in Akron, Ohio, where out of 30 high school kickers, he finished in the top 5.

One thing that sets Ferraro apart from other kickers is the memorable moments he has already experienced at such a young age.”One of my most memorable moments in football was in my grade 10 season when I kicked the game winning field goal in overtime to help my team to an undefeated, championship winning season.” Kicking clutch field goals seems to be second nature for the high school student as he has accomplished the task a hand full of times. “Another huge accomplishment was this past summer when I kicked the game winning field goal in the semi-finals to send my team to the championship game where we went on to be OVFL JV champions.” But perhaps his most impressive kick comes from a distance that makes players who are years older then him, scared. At the age of 15, Ferraro nailed a 49 yarder in a game this season. An achievement that is sure to grab the attention of many people.

As for what’s next for the kicker, is still undecided. Ferraro has one more year left of high school, but knows that he has the opportunities to do great things. “For my future, I’m planning on following my brothers footsteps and playing university football,” the grade 11 student says. “My ultimate goal is to make the NFL or CFL.”

Plans this big, could not be possible without the help of people around him, and Ferraro has no shortage of support and inspiration. “The people who have inspired me the most are my parents who have helped guide me to do the best I could do on and off the field and my brother who has toutered me along the way and helped me with my journey to become the best kicker I could be.”

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
