Windsor Lancers Head Coach Joe D’Amore is pleased to announce the addition of two assistant coaches to the Lancer coaching staff for the 2016 season.

Joining the Blue & Gold are Chris Clement and Joe Brannagan. Chris will take over the recruiting duties and the running backs, while Brannagan will slide into the role of Defensive Coordinator for the season.

Clement comes to Windsor after spending three years with the University of Manitoba under the same role. “Chris came highly recommended from Bisons head coach Brian Dobie who I have a tone of respect for,” said D’Amore. “What I first noticed from Chris in the first few days working with him is he is a grinder, works very hard at both recruiting and coaching. He will be a great asset to the offensive side of the ball in not only game planning but in practice preparation as well.”

A graduate of the Royal Military College, Clement has spent the past nine years with the Royal Canadian Air Force and is equally excited to be joining the Lancers this fall. “This is a great opportunity to help grow the program nationally,” said Chris. “The Lancer are a program on the rise with a tone of talent, and I am excited to get working with this group.”

Brannagan returns to the Lancer coaching staff after a two year hiatus. “I am very excited to have Coach Brannagan back with us. I have a tone of trust in Joe and his abilities to lead our defense this season,” commented D’Amore. “He has over 10 years of CIS experience and will help with an easy transition into a new system.”

“The players know him and have worked with him before, so it’s the most logical move to make.”

“I’m excited to be back coaching Lancer Football and am looking forward to working with the talented group of athletes that we have, along with the dedicated staff of coaches,” said Brannagan. “Collectively, we are looking to grow into a formidable, cohesive unit, capable of generating turnovers and stopping opposing teams to give our offense more possessions and more opportunities to score points.”

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
