Coach McEvoy & Coach Hayes talk about playoff match ups

TT – You face the first place Burlington Braves at their house in Saturday’s semi final. The Sooners won the regular season contest at home 31-7. Can the Sooners do the same in the playoffs? As defending OFC Champions is there extra pressure to win again?

The OFC has been really competitive this year and any team truly has the ability to beat any other team.
The four remaining teams were all 3-1 at home this year so Burlington has home field advantage and doesn’t have to worry about taking a 5 hr bus ride.
Our first outcome will not have any bearing on the outcome of this game, if anything we know Burlington was not happy with their outcome the first time they played so they have some added incentive this time.
We know their offense have a very athletic and conference all star QB. They have a RB who can go the distance whenever he touches the ball and one of the best receiving corps in the conference. On defense their front 6 is very solid and tough to run on and in the back end they have quality DB’s.
As a result we know we will be in tough this weekend.
As far as added pressure, this year’s Sooner team is so different from last year’s team the only pressure we feel is from ourselves wanting to be the best we can be.

TT – You finished in second place and face the always strong St Leonard Cougars. The Cougars have defeated the Hurricanes two consecutive years in the semi finals, 2008 and 2009. Is 2010 Hamilton’s time and why?

The last 3 games between us and St Leonard ended on the last play of the game.
I would expect another close physical game.
The last 2 losses don’t come into play as they were totally different Hurricane teams.
We are excited for the challenge ahead of us and we respect the Cougars.
