Coach Morris makes U of A the right choice for local prospect

The U Sports recruiting season is back with another signing in Alberta, and this time it’s running back Aidan Purdon signing on with the Golden Bears for the 2021 season.

“I chose the U of A mainly because of the atmosphere of brotherhood and family, also because Coach Morris makes education a huge priority,” he says. Due to these factors, Purdon felt that the University of Alberta would help him grow as a player and as a person.

Purdon is still undecided as to what he will be taking in University, but he is leaning towards the faculty of science.

U SPORTS COMMITS

At 6’1, 210lbs Purdon has played on both sides of the ball Paul Kane Blues (MEHSAA) suiting up at running back, linebacker and kicker.

Purdon played football with the St. Albert Minor Football Association (SAMFA) since first year Atom, and he has played every year into bantam. After that, Purdon has been a member of the Paul Kane Blues since grade 10.

“I hope to have a grade 12 season, but due to Covid my senior season may not happen,” he adds.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
