Concordia adds two Québec commits to their Class of 2018.
The Concordia Stingers’ receiving and defensive back core has gotten some reinforcement with the additions of receiver Maxime Bouffard from Cégep de Sherbrooke and defensive back Malick Sylvain from Cégep Édouard-Montpetit.
Maxime Bouffard
After spending the last three years playing in familiar surroundings, it was time for Maxime Bouffard to have a change of scenery. “I signed with Concordia because I have a great feeing about the vibe around the team, the organization and the campus,” he said. “It is also a program that is doing better every year and I think we have to give credit to the young, dynamic and great coaching staff.”
Bouffard spent five years playing high school ball with Les Harfangs de l’école secondaire du Triolet (RSEQ). He then joined the Champlain College Lennoxville Cougars for a year before returning to his hometown of Sherbrooke, Québec. Once there, he spent three years with Les Volontaires du Cégep de Sherbrooke (RSEQ Division 2).
Standing at 6’3, 210lbs, Bouffard spent last season playing as a wide receiver, running back, tight end and fullback. He is interested in taking communications or design.
Malick Sylvain
“Concordia felt like the best fit for me as a defensive back. Jeramine Lewis-Parris, the defensive backs coach, explained how their defense is zone-heavy and how I would fit right in,” Malick Sylvain said. “Our new head coach, Patrick Donavan, although being strict, shows that he truly loves his players. It’s unlike anything I’ve seen before.”
Sylvain played with Les Lynx du Cégep Édouard Montpetit (RSEQ Division 2) in cégep. Prior to that, he played with La Milice de l’école secondaire de la Magdeleine (RSEQ) in high school in his hometown of La Prairie, Québec. La Prairie is a southwestern, off-island suburb of Montréal, Québec. Standing at 6’4, 190lbs, he has played the sport for 12 years and is interested in taking administration.
Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
