Concordia’s rebuild energy excites CEGEP recruit

Laval defensive back joins RSEQ team’s 2015 class.

Jean Marie McRodly wanted a unique opportunity and found it.

The 5’10, 183 pound defensive back from Laval (Vimot), Quebec has signed with Concordia Stingers.  McRodly will join the team for the 2015 RSEQ season.

“I committed because Concordia is a great university and Loyola Campus has a good reputation,” explained McRodly of his decision.  “The coaching staff is awesome and they are doing a great job rebuilding this football program.”

“I want to be part of something great that’s why I choose Concordia.”

McRodly, who is of Haitian descent, completed his CEGEP career with Division 3 team, Ahuntsic Indiens. This past season, he led the team in tackling.  Over the course of two years, the defensive back registered 60.5 tackles, caught six interceptions and 10 pass deflections.  Additionally, McRodly racked up 577 punt return yards (average of 17 yards per return.
