In final week of Nova Scotia Varsity Football League (NSVFL) junior varsity action the Dartmouth Destroyers outlasted the Halifax Seahawks 33-12 at St. Mary’s university.
1st Half
Riley Potter of Dartmouth led the scoring with 2 Touchdowns and the other Dartmouth scorers were Trae Colley, Andrew Klain and QB Cody Cluett.
Riley Potter went 3 for 5 Kicking converts to account for 3 points.
The Dartmouth Defensive effort was a well rounded team effort with honourable mentions going to Alex Matheson, Shawn Ribinson, and Dylan Cossar who made some great tackles and put lots of pressure on Seahawks QB. Connor Moore and Jesiah Hathaway were firing on all cylinders as well, forcing 1 fumble and recovering another.
Byron Kavanagh scored a TD for Halifax and Kicker Rob Wilson split the forks for a field Goal and a convert accounting for 4 points.
2nd Half
The second half was a great defensive game played by both teams , the only scoring resulting from Halifax’s defense forcing Dartmouth to take a knee in the endzone which accounted for 2 point safety touch.
Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
