Dayton Black says “Football is my life”

For Dayton Black, football is more than just a sport; it is a way of life. β€œFootball is my life if I didn’t have football I don’t know where I would be today without it,” says Black.

The young man was destined to become a star since his dad turned him to the gridiron when he was just a young pup, but the connection was instant, and the love for the game still burns brightly inside him. β€œMy dad started me when I was six, and I have loved it ever since,” says Black. More than just showing him the game, his father taught him an important life lesson: hard work. β€œMy dad has taught me to work so hard that people don’t want to play me because no matter what they will do, I will make sure I am working harder,” says Black.

It would be easy to say that Black’s success is due to genetics, after all, he stands at 6’6, 266lbs, but the man works every day to improve as a player and a leader. β€œI have been to over eight camps and combines this summer from all over the United States. From Minot to UND and NDSU [to name a few], I feel that I am one of the top performers there, and I work the hardest,” says Black.

He is a good quarterback who threw for over 1,200 yards and 16 scores last season. He also added seven rushing touchdowns. But, Black is more than just a good quarterback; he is a complete football player. This big mutant has experience playing tight end, defensive end, linebacker, and punter. On the defensive side of the ball, Black recorded 12 sacks and 30+ tackles.

Before graduating high school and leaving for university, Black wants to work on his strength. β€œI hope to maximize my strength before I reach university,” says Black.

As far as playing, the young man is confident in his lifelong preparation for the next step. β€œI feel that I will be able to adjust for next year easy because I have been preparing for this since I could remember,” says Black.
