Tyler started playing the sport for the Truro Vultures at age 7, where he was named Team MVP. In atom he played on the Truro Tide and his second year on the team he was awarded Defensive MVP.

He went on to play for the Truro Blue Bombers and received Player of the Year. The year after he played two consecutive years in bantam, with the Truro Freight Liners where he was transitioned into a DB.

He is currently playing for Cobequid Educational Centre (CEC) Cougars. This fall will be his final high school season, where Tyler hopes to get university recognition.

He believes his best interests are in improving the teams success, “in order to [get noticed], I want to help my team get to a provincial championship in any way I can.”

Tyler is prepared to fill any role his coach asks, as he knows a lot of his teams success will fall on his shoulders.

Tyler has been training all winter, and working on his game. He has added mass and was able to get up to 180 pounds. This summer, he is running track with his school, and is working out regularly, in hopes of increasing his speed and strength. On top of that Tyler is also training with Nova Scotia’s provincial under-18 team, and will be playing at the Football Canada Cup in July in Winnipeg Manitoba.

Last season, one of Tyler’s fondest memories was blocking for oneĀ of his defensive linemen, as he ran for a pick 6. He also enjoyed being able to runback a punt return during his home opener.

He stated that, “my dad who encouraged to me to play football in the first place and kept me with it, or some of the grade 12s who really helped me a lot in my rookie season” were the most influential people in his football life.

Tyler Ball will be looked upon by all of CEC to lead the football team to a successful season and hopefully accomplish his goal of getting his team to a provincial championship.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
