When the superhero you love is ‘Thanos’ because he rules the galaxy, you can be sure that this young defensive back is out to conquer his upcoming junior year. Class of 2022 prospect Beau Nevraumont out of Belmont Secondary on Vancouver Island in B.C. isn’t letting anything come between him and achieving his goals.

I want to play football at a high college level and make records there and after that play professional football,” he mentions of his future aspirations. He would like to pursue Business with a focus on commerce, but he hasn’t quite narrowed down whether he wants to get into accounting or marketing.

He has the time to figure that part out, though, and shouldn’t have too much trouble if he takes care of business in the classroom. Football wise? Nevraumont is motivated by his hard work and dedication each time he steps on the field.

“I’m thinking about all the hours I’ve spent on myself and all the training I’ve done to prepare myself to be the best against others on the field,” he says. “ I am also focusing on beating the other team and celebrating with my teammates.”

For seven years, he’s been working on his craft which got started because of his brother who was playing at the time. Nevraumont became interested in the sport and since then has been grinding it out to get better. The competition is what drives him. More specifically, at defensive back, the battle for the rock is his favorite.

The best part of my position is the 50/50 ball action between me and the WR, and beating him always feels good,” he says.

Going up and winning that battle can’t be won unless you are superior to your opponent, both athletically and mentally. Nevraumont works on both. Eat, sleep, school, workout is the routine that he follows to accomplish this. Everyday he gives each area its due diligence.

“I have been getting my weight up recently Because next year if I stay the same weight I’ll be kinda undersized so I’m hoping to get too 175 before may 2020, and I am also gaining strength in my legs to gain speed for my 40 yard time,” he says.

He’s already seen improvements in his strength as he can now power clean 145lbs for 3 reps up from 125lbs, and deadlift 235lbs for 6 reps when that was his 1 rep max last year. His bench also increased from 125lbs to 155lbs. These personal bests translated onto the field as he recorded 62 total tackles, 3 defensive touchdowns, 3 interceptions, and 2 pick-6s. He was named team captain and also was named to the honour role. Quite impressive for a 2022 athlete just getting started.

As a team captain, no doubt his teammates and coaches mean a lot to him as to him they are family and he spends the majority of his time with them. His teammates are always pushing him, motivating him. His head coach and Coach Beatty have had a strong influence in his development and have taught him how to play the game right and how to prepare.

He adds, “I look up to my coaches and are good mentors to me and have good knowledge that will help my game and work ethic to be great.”

For the time that he isn’t with his football family, he works out, plays basketball, and studies for his classes at school. Of course, he spends time with his family, but you will usually find him in the weight room outside of that.

He will also be participating in the Fox 40 Prospect Challenge later on this offseason in B.C and is excited to learn all he can and get better from that opportunity.

Looking to make a better life for him and his family down the road, Nevraumont has a hardworking attitude and great leadership skills. He states, “I believe I would be a huge asset to your team”.
